Laura Conway is a human woman based out of Denver and Iowa City who makes movies, music, and dances. She is currently an Assistant Professor at The University of Iowa’s Cinematic Arts Department.
Statement/Bio
Laura’s politically grounded films use dance, documentary forms, absurdity, and performance to grapple with the complexities of life in late capitalism. Her films have screened at Slamdance, The Ann Arbor Film Festival, Antimatter Media Arts Festival, The Lucca Film Festival, and The Chicago Underground Film Festival, Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, and the Fader among others. She was a 2022-2025 resident artist at The Redline Arts Center.
