Statement
Artist Laura Conway responds to her father’s diagnosis with a hereditary movement disorder that causes unintended and uncontrollable body movements. Motion Sickness charts both fears and desires about bodies in movement. Here movement is freedom, survival, sex, life, joy, ruin, disorder, doom. The dancers on screen are ecstatic and yet somehow also riotous, possessed even.
